Eric Church & Luke Bryan Play Special Acoustic Showcases At CRS Week

Eric Church and Luke Bryan were just two of the artists to play showcases at the CRS Week (Country Radio Seminar Week) this week, and both impressed with their performances.

Luke played at the Hard Rock Cafe, performing covers of Merle Haggard's 'Big City', Alabama's 'Take Me Down', and Brooks & Dunn's 'My Next Broken Heart', reminding industry folk that he came from a more traditional place despite his alternative rock party anthems and occasional rapping. He also performed Shenandoah's 'Sunday In The South' and Lionel Richie's 'Stuck On You', as well as a few of his own songs such as his last single 'Drink A Beer', current single 'Play It Again', and prior hits 'I Don't Want This Night To End' and 'We Rode In Trucks', which was an early single and a request by David Nail, who was in the audience.

Eric Church meanwhile performed at The Ryman Auditorium, an acoustic set with his producer Jay Joyce, featuring a few songs from his brand new hit album The Outsiders. They played 'A Man Who Was Gonna Die Young', 'Talladega', 'Cold One', 'Roller Coaster Ride', 'Dark Side', lead single 'The Outsiders' and current single 'Give Me Back At Hometown', which is doing well at radio, as well as 'Like A Wrecking Ball', about being desperate to get intimate with his wife after being away on the road.

Eric recounted playing that song for the first time in front of his parents, and how awkward it was. “I got real uncomfortable.  Then I look up and my dad gives me the thumbs up and I got REALLY uncomfortable.”

I really hope some videos surface soon on the internet of these performances, and when they do I'll be sure to share them!
