Emmy Awards Moving to Monday In 2014

The Emmy Awards ceremony is moving off of its Sunday home in 2014.
The Primetime Emmy Awards 2014 will air on a Monday night in order to avoid a conflict with NBC's Sunday Night Football. However, the move to Monday isn't the only change: this year, the ceremony will be airing an entire month earlier: The Emmy Awards 2014 will air on Monday, Aug. 25. The creative arts awards, honoring technical and craft achievements, have been scheduled for Aug. 16.
Could this signal the gradual move away from Sunday night awards ceremonies? This is the first time the Emmy ceremony has been held on a Monday since May 1976, and it's reminiscent of the days in which the Oscars were also held on Mondays. Of course, the difference here is that it hasn't even been twenty years since the Oscars has moved off Mondays, as its last Monday night ceremony was in 1998.
So which night would you prefer awards ceremonies to air? Do Sundays work for you? Or would you rather all awards shows return to Mondays? Sound off in the comments!
