Eminem is a pretty busy guy, but he still finds time for his little girl.
The rapper was reportedly on hand to see his daughter, Hailie Scott, crowned homecoming queen of Chippewa Valley High School on Friday night.
Scott was voted homecoming queen while Tyler Knepp, a self-described nerd with an abiding love of all things Star Trek, was named homecoming king.
“Hailie came out with her mother Kim (Scott) when she was introduced with all the other kids but her father watched from inside the school because he didn’t want to cause a scene -- he wanted Hailie to have her own moment,” said one parent who asked not to be identified.
“I heard our people had him in the cafeteria so he could see what was going on outside, but I can’t confirm that,” said George Sobah, president of the Chippewa Valley Board of Education.
One parent who caught a glimpse of the rapper said he was beaming with pride at the sight of young Hailie. “He opened the door and looked out like - ‘That’s my daughter!’ He just looked like a proud father,” the parent said.
Hailie Scott, 17, is a senior at Chippewa Valley, and described by parents of her friends as both smart and athletic, as well as caring. She also doesn't appear to be negatively affected by her father's iconic status.
“I think all of the kids in the district have shown respect to their family and just let her live a normal life here out of the spotlight,” one parent said. “I think that speaks very highly of the Chippewa Valley community to not try to take advantage of their fame.”
Eminem's profile is on the rise as he re-enters the spotlight with the release of The Marshal Mathers LP 2, which is due for release on November 5.
