Ella Henderson Debuts 'Yours' Music Video (VIDEO)

Ella Henderson has come a long way from The X Factor UK. She's been having a hell of a year with the success of her breakthrough single, "Ghost", and her nonstop media tour, including appearances all over the world to promote her album, Chapter One (which hit #1 in the UK in its first week of release back in October). Now, Ella is looking ahead to her next potentially big single, as she delivers a surging, gorgeous piano ballad, "Yours".

The video is beautiful, mostly because it's so subdued. Filmed in black-and-white, Ella is basically singing in her apartment and chilling in bed with the man she loves. While some might argue the song deserved a more story-driven video, I thought this was an absolutely perfect choice, as the understated nature of the video allows the song to be the focus. And really, music videos are great and all, but they should be compelling you to get the song/album, first and foremost. Of course, I'd be kind of remiss if I didn't mention that Ella has never looked more beautiful. Kudos to the styling team for not overdoing it. I mean, she's gorgeous already, but too many naturally pretty girls get caked in makeup and absentee clothing for their music videos, and it makes for a visual straight out of the uncanny valley. Thank God that hasn't been the case with Ella, so far.

What did you think of the song and video? Would you have liked to have seen a more story-driven video, or was the simple approach better? Do you think Ella should have picked a different song for the new single? Let us know what you think by sounding off in the comments!
