Ella Henderson auditions with a song she wrote herself in honor of her late grandfather on The X Factor UK.
I can't believe this girl is only 16! She writes her own songs, she has great stage presence and poise and her voice is beautiful! I'm really excited about this girl. I hope she does well!
This sixteen year old has never wanted to be anything other than a singer. She was inspired by the memory of her late grandfather when she wrote the song. She told Tulisa that she was very close to her grandfather and he died when she was young. He was always the one person who told her to never let people get her down and she was having a really down day when she wrote the song and it makes her remember his advice. She got a standing ovation from the audience and Tulisa for her performance.
This was by far my favorite audition of the episode and I'm more excited about this girl than I have been about a contestant on one of these shows in awhile. I though her original song was very moving, if a bit reminiscent of an Adele style breakup song. Her voice is clear and powerful and beautiful and she seems to have great control and emotion. I really hope she can put all of that into other people's songs as well. Go Ella!
