Ed Sheeran Considers Country Album

Ed Sheeran would one day consider a country career, according to an interview with Yahoo! Music.

Currently on the Red Tour with Taylor Swift, the British singer-songwriter famous for songs like 'The A Team' and 'Lego House', said that he wouldn't rule it out in the future. "Country music is some of the best-written music in the world, so yeah, one day, I would keep my mind open to doing a country record. … Hunter Hayes has some sick music," he said. "There's so much good country music out there."

With this in mind, I took to Twitter to ask what people thought of this. Most were actually in favor despite country music's reputation of 'exclusivity', stating that Ed Sheeran's songwriting skills would be welcome in Nashville right now, due to their distate in the current formulaic trends. Although we all admitted his reference to Hunter Hayes and his current stylings would probably result in a decidedly country pop sound, we thought there was potential.

Both Ed and Taylor Swift are currently promoting a single they wrote and recorded for Taylor's 2012 album Red, entitled 'Everything Has Changed'. Its popularity, particularly in Ed's home country of the UK (current peak #7), may be persuading him to go down that route.
