Dwyane Wade, the shooting guard for the Miami Heat, talks about aspects of his life that are detailed in his new book, “A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball.” He’s so inspirational.

Dwyane Wade, the 30-year-old father & professional athlete, made an appearance on The View. He skipped out on the 2012 London Olympics due to a knee operation.

He’s been through it all: an ugly divorce, false accusations, and he even sued his ex-wife for full custody of their children. Dwyane currently has full custody of his 10-year-old son, his 5-year-old son, and his nephew.

His ex-wife accused Dwyane of being unfaithful and physically abusive. These accusations are completely false. He handled all of this on his own! None of his teammates knew that he was having a rough time at home. Albeit him gaining full custody of the children, his ex-wife still gets to see the children once in awhile.

“If I don’t have my kids with me, I’m not whole,” explained Dwyane. “The judge granted me custody because they felt that I can make the relationship work between both parents... that I can facilitate the relationship.”
