Dwayne Johnson - New TNT Reality Series - The Hero

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has signed with TNT to host and produce a new reality series called "The Hero."  The show is slated for a January premiere.

Per THR, the new series, tentatively titled "The Hero," will pit ten "ordinary" people against each other in a competition "that will test their brains, their brawn and even their morality."  The goal of the series is to "find the next great hero."

The ten contestants will be housed together for the duration of the competition and assigned "missions" that will test just how much they are willing to sacrifice, overcome or endure for the sake of their fellow competitors.

Viewers will then vote each week for the contestant they think is the "most heroic."

"The Hero is a great fit for TNT's drama fans, whether they enjoy stories with a lot of action, suspense and danger or stories that offer inspiration through the heroic actions of everyday people," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies. "We're also very excited about the extensive social-media aspect of The Hero, which will engage viewers on an entirely new level and develop a strong emotional investment in the competitors and challenges."

Sounds like a cross between Big Brother and The Hunger Games.  Seems like a weird concept for a reality show, but you just never know what will take off.
