Dwayne Johnson Basically Confirms He's Playing Shazam (VIDEO)
Is The Rock headed to the DC Universe? It's certainly looking like a possibility now.
Dwayne Johnson recently sat down with Total Film to discuss his new film, Hercules, and the discussion inevitably led to interviewer Josh Winning attempting to trick the action star to admit his involvement in a DC superhero project. Although Johnson tries to be careful about the words he chooses, essentially saying that he has to first find a role that is the right fit for his personality, he eventually just gives up the ghost by admitting that not only will he be playing a DC Comics character, but that he will also be making an announcement as to which one "very soon."
As the interview continues, Johnson says the character is someone "with the power of Superman," adding to the hint by telling Winning to “just say the word.” This basically confirms that the role is Shazam (the hero formerly known as Captain Marvel, a normal kid who transforms into a fully-grown hero just by shouting the word "Shazam!" at the top of his lungs). So will Shazam be appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Will he appear in the Justice League movie scheduled to immediately follow in 2018? Or will a standalone Shazam movie be one of the nine DC Comics movies previously announced as being in the works? It's hard to know for sure, but until the official announcement comes, check out the full video of Dwayne Johnson's interview with Total Film below:
