It Turns Out That Dustin Diamond Totally Stabbed a Guy

At the end of last week we informed you that Saved by the Bell actor Dustin Diamond (AKA Screech) had been arrested the day after Christmas (Dec. 26) for possession of a switchblade.

The truth however is he stabbed a guy. Albeit "accidentally." How do you like Screech now?

According to People, Diamond is still in police custody after stabbing a man during a fight on Christmas Day.

He was charged with recklessly endangering the safety of the public, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.

Diamond is currently claiming self defense, saying he only stabbed the man to protect his fiancee.

Based on a criminal complaint, the actor reported it all started when he refused to shake the hand of a bar patron. When he and his fiance went to leave, Diamond says he heard a scream and turned around to find his fiancee bleeding and being held by two men who had her by the hair.

He was then grabbed by another patron. "I moved his arm up and around, and I had the knife in my hand, or the, ah, pen in my hand," Dustin said in the complaint.

The officer noted that "twice during his conversation with Diamond, as Diamond was talking about having a pen in his hand he referred to it as a knife, and then corrected himself saying it was a pen."

Only when confronted with video did Diamond admit to owning the weapon in question.

"Diamond stated that he did not intentionally stab the individual in the bar, but that chaos broke out and people were grabbing at him and that he swung his arms to break free."

As for the person Dustin stabbed, he told police that he witnessed Diamond "being negative and fighting with people" and that he did not realize he has been stabbed under the armpit until later.

Another witness says she saw Diamond's fiancee grab a woman's phone and say something like, "That's enough pictures," which resulted in a tussle between the two women.

The actor's cash bond has been set by a judge at $11,000 for all his charges and he is expected to appear in court again next Monday.

His fiancee was released after being charged with disorderly conduct.
