Tonight is the first elimination night! The theme: Songs That Inspire.
Who's going home tonight? How is this elimination going to happen anyway? LOL
The recap and results:
John Legend and Jennifer Nettles open the show with a duet of "I Got The Music In Me." Another great performance. How do I vote?
Elimination rules: The bottom two singers will have a solo showdown -- a capella!
Alexis Foster - Killing Me Softly with His Song
Alexis duets with her partner Robin Thicke. An interesting exchanging of her/his in the lyrics. I'm kinda distracted by Robin's gold mic! LOL

John Glosson - How Great Thou Art
John made his partner Jennifer Nettles cry during rehearsal. This performance was so beautiful. So inspiring. I'm crying... One of the best performances I've seen on Reality TV singing competitions ever. Standing O!

Jordan Meredith - Mama's Broken Heart
Jordan's partner Kelly Clarkson is a great cheerleader during rehearsals. I love the staging of this (Jordan was barefoot) -- but they gave her the FIRE and RED LIGHTS treatment. Are they sending a message here?

Meleana Brown - If I Ain't Got You
Meleana duets with her partner John Legend. John is so hot seriously. This was good! A child-bearing song for child-bearing voices (John included! LOL)

I think Robin Thicke just wants to channel Jay-Z! Hahaha! Interesting song choice!

J Rome - How Am I Supposed To Live Without You
J dedicated this song to his grandpa. Another great vocal from J and Jennifer. So touching. Their voices really compliment each other very well.

This song is overdone, but my mind is open tonight because I'm rooting for Jason -- and it's friggin' Kelly Clarkson!

Bridget Carrington - Heard It Through The Grapevine
She dedicated this song to her dad. This looked like a show! Great presentation from John Legend -- he made it look like Bridget was a guest performer in one of his concerts.

Jason and Alexis are in the Bottom 2! They will sing in the solo showdown, a capella! And one of them will go home! Save Jason!!!
Solo Showdown
Jason sings "Me and Mrs. Jones"
Alexis sings "Natural Woman"
I would give that showdown to Jason as Alexis seemed more nervous than he was.
Results
Kelly says that Jason doesn't deserve to be in the Bottom 2 and that they were both pitchy in parts.
Robin says that they are both lovely.
John says that they both have something in them.
Jennifer says "Where were these performances?"
They all enter their scores...
