Drew Tarver Joins Cast of 'How I Met Your Dad'

The cast for the upcoming spinoff of How I Met Your Mother is coming together quite nicely.

Following the news that Greta Gerwig would be playing the lead role of Sally in the new sitcom comes confirmation that Drew Tarver has been cast as Todd, Sally’s “best friend and roommate from college who is now married to her brother.”

Tarver, who previously starred on little-seen shows such as Adult Swim's Newsreaders and NBC's short-lived Animal Practice, was reportedly discovered at a CBS Diversity Showcase in January. Tarver was signed to a CBS Talent Holding Deal before officially being added to the cast of How I Met Your Dad. All in all, I think this is a solid casting choice for the new show, which needs all the dynamic young talent it can get its hands on. I'm already looking forward to the 2014-2015 TV season to see how this turns out. As for now, the show's parent series still has a month to go until it leaves airways forever. How I Met Your Mother airs its series finale on March 31 at 8:00 PM on CBS.
