'Downton Abbey' Season 4 Gets U.S. Premiere Date

PBS has officially announced the date that fans can expect to return to Downton.

Season 4 of Downton Abbey will have its U.S. premiere on January 5, 2014, two weeks prior to the U.S. premiere date for the new season of Sherlock.

Fans stateside have been anxious to see the fallout concerning last season's tragic finale, and the departure of series regular Dan Stevens. The show is currently midway through the airing of its fourth season in the UK, and the show is proving as engrossing and divisive as ever. It should be interesting to see what kind of ratings Downton does in a back-to-back bloc with Sherlock on Sunday nights. As if it wasn't considered as much already, Sunday is TV's most insanely stacked night.
