Donald Trump Banned from Republican Event After Megyn Kelly Debate Comment
Donald Trump has been banned from an upcoming Republican event, and it's all a result of his brazen remarks regarding the GOP Debate on Thursday night.
In an interview with CNN, Trump called out FOX News reporter Megyn Kelly, stating she “had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” while questioning him during the debate. Apparently, this was perceived as a menstruation reference, and was taken pretty poorly not just by women and supporters of Kelly, but even by some Trump supporters. Trump had been scheduled to appear at a special tailgate at the College Footbll Hall of Fame in Atlanta tonight, but as a result of his comments, event organizer and conservative activist Erick Erickson has officially rescinded Trump's invitation.
I have rescinded my invitation to Mr.Trump. While I have tried to give him great latitude, his remark about Megyn Kelly was a bridge too far

Erickson would go on to invite Megyn Kelly to attend the festival in Trump's place, although he notes that it's unlikely she'll be able to. That said, this hasn't stopped Erickson from going all-in on Trump:
Must be a pain in the ass to not be able to buy somebody.

It is a shame that a candidate for President confuses political correctness and common decency.

Just for the record, the RedState Gathering was sold out long before we even announced Donald Trump would be coming.

It’s a very simple concept Trump supporters, of all people, should respect — my event and my microphone.

I think NBC wants me to be the new host of The Apprentice. I practiced saying "You're fired" to Donald Trump today.
— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) August 8, 2015

Of course, the irony here is that Erickson himself has made comments that aren't exactly the most supportive towards the opposite sex. Hell, you might argue some of his past comments are just as bad, if not worse, than Trump's.
Best I can figure, #GamerGate is the byproduct of what happens when women and gender studies majors have to find a real job.

It was a tough choice today. Celebrate Hobby Lobby by going to Chick-Fil-A or making my wife make me a sandwich. #CFAFTW

Turned on twitter today and there was a barrage of angry feminists upset with me telling them to get in the kitchen and learn to cook

For his part, Trump has responded to the ban from the event with a rant on Twitter, lamenting the political correctness at play, and the "weakness" it supposedly represents:
So many "politically correct" fools in our country. We have to all get back to work and stop wasting time and energy on nonsense!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 8, 2015
.@redstate I miss you all, and thanks for all of your support. Political correctness is killing our country. "weakness."

What do you think of this conflict? An overreaction? Justified? Will any of this even matter to Trump's campaign, in the long run? Sound off in the comments!
