Donald Glover reduces 'Community' role for season 5

One of TV's best comedic actors will have a considerably reduced role on one of TV's most underrated comedies.

Donald Glover, who plays the quirky/hypersensitive Troy Barnes on the NBC sitcom, will appear in only five of the thirteen episodes for Community's upcoming fifth season, reports Vulture.

So why is Glover cutting back on his time at Greendale?

Apparently, the actor wants to focus on his rap music career. Under the alias Childish Gambino, Glover is signed to Glassnote Records, under which he released his first major label album, Camp (2011).

Representatives for Glover and Sony, which produces Community, could not be reached for comment.
