Dominic Cooper Joins 'Agent Carter' Cast
Howard Stark will be a part of Marvel's Agent Carter when it premieres on ABC at midseason! Dominic Cooper has officially joined the cast to reprise his role from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Howard Stark is the genius father of Tony Stark, the future Iron Man. His casting makes sense, since his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was alongside Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in Captain America: The First Avenger. He also appeared in the Agent Carter Marvel One-Shot that appeared exclusively on the DVD for Iron Man 3.
Cooper joins a cast that includes Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, James D’Arcy and Shea Whigham, in a series that stars Atwell as the titular agent, who is struggling with the demands of her career after the end of World War II. She's fighting the good fight as part of the SSR, the organization that will one day be known as S.H.I.E.L.D.
No official premiere date for Agent Carter has been revealed, but Marvel and ABC have stated that it will air between the first and second halves of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s second season. Overall, Cooper is a great casting choice, as the inclusion of Howard Stark will allow for further connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly in how it illustrates the rise of Stark Industries. I'm on-board with Agent Carter. But are you? Sound off in the comments!
