Domestic Bliss

First it snowed, and then rain. The only good thing about that is that the rain is washing away the snow, but it's horrible outside.

And so I stayed home today and did my domestic duties, which reminded me of my former roommate, Adolfo, who is now in Argentina. I made greeting cards when everything was done, and here's the note I wrote Adolfo:

Feliz Navidad!

I hope that Salta is treating you better than the slave-drivers of New York's restaurant industry. Are you working? I hope you are not missing New York too much.

As promised, your plants are almost dead – the one with the thick leaves is about to go soon. I’m trying to revive them, but I don’t think they will last. Please pray for them. I thought about you while I ironed and folded my clothes today. I also vacuumed and fixed my bed. You would have been proud. There are many things in the room that remind me of you. I will never fold my clothes and roll my socks the same way again.

Here's to a great new year for you and a wonderful birthday.
