'Doctor Who' Season 8 Premiere Coming to Theaters Worldwide

Doctor Who is coming to a theater near you. And also theaters nowhere near you, as the Season 8 premiere of Doctor Who will be screened in theaters worldwide this August.

"Deep Breath," the season premiere of Doctor Who, and Peter Capaldi's first full episode as the Doctor, will premiere in select theaters around the world beginning on August 23. Much like "The Day of the Doctor," the show's 50th anniversary episode (which also screened in over 1500 theaters globally), "Deep Breath" will be a feature-length episode. Directed by acclaimed director Ben Wheatley (Sightseers) and written by lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat, the episode not only features Capaldi's first go as the Twelfth Doctor alongside Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, the Victorian London-set adventure also features the return of fan favorites The Paternoster Gang - Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh), Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart) and Strax (Dan Starkey).

"Last November the Doctor didn't just conquer the world on television, he did it in the cinemas too. And like the show-off he is, he can't resist another go - one taste of the silver screen is never enough," Moffat stated in the press release. "On August 23rd the new Doctor will begin his new adventures on BBC One and in cinemas all over the world. Movie-land beware - Capaldi is coming to get you!"

Specific theaters have yet to be announced, but keep up to date as BBC will be announcing locations for screenings of Doctor Who: Deep Breath on its official cinema page.
