Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Week – Full Schedule

BBC America is celebrating Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary with a full week of programming culminating in the world premiere of the long-awaited 50th Anniversary Special, "The Day of the Doctor" on Saturday, November 23.
Though this will not be the first time BBC America has aired Doctor Who on the same day as the UK, this will be the first time it airs an episode simultaneously with our friends across the pond. The network will air the world premiere of "The Day of the Doctor" at 2:50 PM ET, 7:50 PM ET London time. The episode centers on the team-up between Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor and David Tennant's triumphant return as the Tenth Doctor. In addition, the special will see the return of Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, along with guest star John Hurt as a mysterious iteration of The Doctor. Following the premiere, BBC America will re-air the episode in primetime with interviews from Smith, Tennant, and others.
On the eve of the 50th Anniversary special, BBC America will air An Adventure in Space and Time, the TV-movie centering on the genesis of Doctor Who in the early 1960s, starring David Bradley as William Hartnell, the very first Doctor.
The full schedule is as follows:
-Monday, November 18: a marathon of Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited, airing from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, followed by a retrospective special titled Doctor Who: Tales from the TARDIS, which will feature interviews with Smith, Tennant, past Doctors Tom Baker and Peter Davison, and other key figures in the series. At 10:00 PM, The Science of Doctor Who will feature popular TV physicist Brian Cox exploring how the TARDIS, the sonic screwdriver and other elements of the Doctor Who universe might actually work.
-On Tuesday, November 19: From 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the network will air a marathon of episodes from Christopher Eccleston's brief tenure as the Ninth Doctor.
-Wednesday, November 20: From 2:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the network will air a marathon of Tennant episodes, followed by a multi-day marathon of Smith's tenure.
-Thursday, November 21: From 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the Smith era marathon continues.
-Friday, November 22: The Smith marathon continues from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, followed by the premiere of a new documentary: Doctor Who Explained. Then, at 9:00 PM is the premiere of An Adventure in Space and Time.
-Saturday, November 23: The marathon of Smith episodes comes to a close, airing the last episodes from 1:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by the world premiere of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, "The Day of the Doctor".
-Sunday, November 24: The week comes to a close with a marathon of the top 11 Smith episodes, as voted on by fans, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, to be followed by the premiere of the Eleventh Doctor's own The Doctors Revisited special.
