Disney's 'Good Luck Charlie' Introduces Same-Sex Couple - Video

Way to go, Disney! The Disney Channel made good on their promise to feature a same-sex couple on an episode of Good Luck Charlie.

On the penultimate episode of the series, a play date introduces the fact that "Taylor has two moms". I think the show did this really well. It wasn't made to be a big deal when Susan and Cheryl turned up at the door and they were welcomed with open arms, as they should be.

Except for the momentary confusion over who had met Taylor's mom, it was dealt with and introduced well and they weren't a punchline or a stereotype.

Desi Lydic appears as Susan and Lilli Birdsell as Cheryl.

This was an historic moment for the network as it was the first same-sex couple and openly gay character to appear on any children's show.

Good Luck Charlie will air the two part series finale on February 16th.
