Desperate Housewives - The God-Why-Don't-You-Love-Me Blues - Recap

(Here's the Desperate Housewives recap from Desi for episode "The God-Why-Don't-You-Love-Me Blues")
Bree and Katherine open this week's Desperate Housewives with Bree arriving to the bakery to find Katherine pulling pans of food out of the ovens. She says that she started baking around three or four AM. She proclaims that she's in such a good mood because she is in love. Bree figures out that she's fixating on Mike again. Katherine says that Mike and Susan aren't sleeping together and thinks it's because Mike wants to be with her instead.
Lynette's pregnancy gets harder to hide this week as her breasts get even bigger. Tom loves them and so does Carlos: he wants to use them to secure a new client for the company. Carlos, though, thinks that Lynette got breast enhancements and tries to enlist her help in talking Gabi into getting a pair. He leaves her with a company credit card to go out and buy a dress for the client dinner that evening.
At the Bolen's, Danny had stopped going to school. His parents don't want him to drop out, but his mom allows him to stay home so that he doesn't spill any of the secrets they are trying to hide. Angie bribes Porter to plan a party to cheer Danny up and make some friends, and after a few hundred dollars, he agrees.
Julie is still in a coma, and she has a visitor while Susan is waiting at her bedside. Andrew comes in to bring her some flowers and accidentally spills some knowledge she'd been keeping from her mom: that she dropped out of med school. To become a waitress. And that her boyfriend was a married man cheating on his wife with her.
Oops.
Things are slightly less scandalous for Gabi, when her daughters find condoms under Anna's bed after being brought home by John. She tells Gabi that she hasn't done anything with John yet, but that she does like him.
Susan searches Julie's room and finally finds her journal, which she thinks will allow her to figure out who it was that attacked Julie. Even in her journal, she only addresses her boyfriend by his initial: D. Mike and Susan try to figure out if they can identify who she might be dating when the call comes from the hospital that Julie has woken up.
Gabi goes to John's restaurant to confront him about Anna and the condoms. In the process, he starts to come on to her. He says that when he was younger, he didn't have anything to give her, and that he could give her everything she deserves with the money he's made. Eventually, he kisses her at the exact moment Anna rushes into the building. She gets in a showdown with Gabi later, threatening to tell Carlos, what she saw. Gabi explains what happened with she and John in the past, and when Carlos gets home, Anna instead decides to quit her job.
As Lynette enters the restaurant for dinner, she's still wearing her coat. Carlos convinces her to take it off and the revealing neckline draws a lot of attention to her. She gushes to Tom when she gets home about how much she enjoyed being looked at, and he tells her that he doesn't want her to be perfect because he isn't.
Bree had been consulting with an engaged couple, and the pair picked a wedding cake that Katherine had designed. Before the wedding, though, Bree had put her on a three-week sick leave vacation because of her obsession with Mike. She shows up at the wedding, though, because it's her cake design. While trying to wheel it away from Katherine, Bree is chased by her in a classic Housewives pratfall. When Kathreine shows up for work the next Monday, Bree froces her to hand over her keys (but not before Katherine is able to scratch the front of Bree's car.)
Mary Alice closes the show by talking about how no one is perfect, showing the imperfections of each family. This week's best scene was definitely the wedding cake chase. I think sometimes the writers for Desperate Housewives forget that the show can be funny, and the humor gets lost in the drama, but they brought it back tonight.
