Derek Hough Leaves Dancing with the Stars

Derek Hough is not returning to Dancing with the Stars in March. He will he shooting in a "dance love story" called "Cobu 3D" in the spring.

I don't think he's coming back. His sister Julianne Hough left the show with a promise to return, but hasn't been back for a few seasons now. Derek has already won 3 times -- I see why he would want to pursue other things in his career.

From THR:

Derek Hough's dancing days are done - for now. He has announced that he won't be appearing on ABC's Dancing With the Stars in March. "I'm taking season 12 off," the three-time champ tells People. Hough will begin shooting the upcoming dance love story Cobu 3D in New York and Toronto this spring. He plays a New Orleans street dancer who moves to New York and falls for an Asian drummer (played by Korean pop recording star BoA).
