Demi Lovato - Fourth Judge on The X Factor?

Demi Lovato is nearing a deal to be the fourth judge on The X Factor according to The Hollywood Reporter. W-what?

I thought this was excellent news at first (Yay! Young viewers!) then I realized: how is she going to mentor contestants older than her properly? And isn't she not totally out of the woods yet with her own personal issues with dealing with fame?

Maybe she's the new host.

From THR

According to sources, the Disney star will bring a younger audience to the Fox show, something creator Simon Cowell has been keen on.

As the countdown to Season 2 of The X Factor continues, the fourth judge is falling into place. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that pop star Demi Lovato is closing a deal to join Britney Spears in the seats vacated by Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul after Season 1.

The deal is not yet done and could fall apart, but sources say Lovato's team is in final negotiations for the job.
