This outage is the third incident. Last week's problem solved itself on Saturday, so when the repairman called on Monday, I canceled. Of course since the Internet is against me for some reason, and specifically Time Warner, the Internet goes blink on Tuesday morning, the day of my original appointment which I just canceled.
As expected, customer support was stupid enough to tell me that I just canceled my appointment. Well, I'm calling you guys because it's down again -- and it has nothing to do with canceling an appointment. The girl gave me a new appointment with the repairman on April 10 -- 6 days away. Well, f@k you too Time Warner. You told me that you don't know what's wrong, and the only way to find out is if a technician comes over -- so you guys have no idea what's wrong with your own network, and it actually takes 6 days for anyone to find out? You guys already know that's there's a problem with your lines when the entire block is calling you (all my neighbors with wireless networks were out as well as I assumed they were Time Warner subscribers). They think their customers are idiots so they man their phone support with idiots. Anyway, the best that my going ballistic at the customer service manager in India was to move the original date to Thursday. It's actually interesting since I was not as aggravated as I might appear writing this now. But the phone support people immediately became agitated at the first indication of hostility. They should probably rename call centers as war rooms.
Anyway. So I made the MP3s and the videos and screencaps, and put them in my portable HD and went from one tip of Manhattan to another. When I got here, the Internet connection was also out! So at that point I felt cursed. Thankfully, there was an unsecure network available which had passable bandwidth, and that's how I have been able to bring you the American Idol festivities today. (We almost didn't make it guys!)
I am very thankful. Watching the show, I actually felt very grateful to all the singers on the show, and I think this was the most enjoyable show for me. I also enjoyed how the judges tried their best and failed to give constructive comments and make the show more colorful. Paula was off her meds did you notice? Anyway, so I guess it's all a matter of perspective. When you expect good things to happen, even if they don't initially, you can overcome adversity. Really.
For the results show, if there's still no Internet in the afternoon, I'll find a way to post something so you can live blog there -- but I hope the Internet repairs itself soon. That's the way its been working anyway.
Thank you readers! Good night!
