'Deception' canceled by NBC

After eleven episodes of hit-or-miss storytelling and constant comparisons to ABC's Revenge, NBC has decided to pull the plug on Deception, the midseason mystery drama starring Meagan Good and Victor Garber.

Top NBC execs had reportedly been high on the drama, especially star Meagan Good. In addition, the series actually pulled pretty decent ratings for a midseason series. However, the show had trouble finding a consistent, solid audience in a crowded field of similar primetime soap operas, resulting in a swift cancellation.

NBC has reportedly now begun the process of shaping the lineup for the 2013-2014 TV season, a process that not only includes notifying producers of existing shows that their series will not be continuing, but also handing down the decision of which pilots will be ordered to series and which will be cut. So expect more cancellations in the days to come.
