Davis Mallory Pens Diem Brown Tribute, 'Beautiful Girls (Diem's Song)' (VIDEO)
MTV star Diem Brown may be gone, but she's not forgotten.
Davis Mallory, a former cast member on The Real World: Denver, The Duel 2, The Inferno 3 and Rivals, has penned a moving tribute song to his late friend, whom he met shortly after completing The Real World: Denver.
"She and I grew up just a few miles away from each other in bordering towns in Georgia, so we hit it off pretty fast," Mallory wrote in an email to us. "Her passing really hit me hard (as I am sure it did many of us)."
Malory lives in Nashville now, where he's been honing his musical talents over the past several years. While working alongside his fellow songwriters, the lyric "Beautiful Girls Aren't Supposed To Die Young" gradually became a song about Diem. Before long, Mallory released "Beautiful Girls (Diem's Song)" to Soundcloud. You can listen to the track below:
In addition, a music video was made for the song highlighting Diem's life. You can watch the video, dedicated to her charity, MedGift, below:
It's an absolutely lovely song that really hammers home the tragedy of Diem's loss. This is someone who should have been around for decades longer than she was, and it further illustrates just what a loathsome illness cancer continues to be. At the very least, Diem managed to inspire and touch a lot of people, as evidenced by the song. So while her time here was short, it wasn't exactly wasted. Our condolences remain with her family and friends.
