David Cook - Cookey Report - Fort Wayne, IN - 09/10/08
(Here's the Cookey Report from SV4DC! She was one of our cellcasters last night! Yay!)
The day was AMAZING!! Perfect weather, the afternoon crowd was perfect, small group, maybe 100-125 people total. Very calm and relaxed atmosphere. The Word Nerd group was next to a great group of Dreadheads (Hi HannaB!!) We had a blast!! It was so great getting to know everyone. Archie, Jason, Chikeze, Brooke, and Kristy Lee came out, everyone else had press, and David Cook had family in town so he didn't come out (As a side note-out of 2 shows, the only idol I didn't get to meet was Cook-go figure LOL-solo tour solo tour!!) One of the dreadheads asked Chikeze if Michael would be out to which he responded "Michael had a rough night so likely will not be coming out" Aww poor MJ-he finally got off the buss a 4:00 on the nose for the pop-tarts meet and greet LOL. We had a mini-B-day part for Chikeze (Desi I see why you love this guy so much-what a sweetheart!) We sang Happy Birthday to him, everyone wore party hats, he totally soaked up the attention. For a minute I thought he might actually cry. We got some great group pictures with him!! Archie spent a ton of time out there, I just love that kid!! Told him I loved Crush and was proud of him for how well it did and that I downloaded it the 1st day it was available-He knew I was a Cook fan from my T-shirt, he looked me in the eye and said Thank You-so sincerely. AWWW!!!
Jason-well was just Jason LOL. He is so sweet as well, just love how calm he is. The girls went through fairly quickly Brooke was in a hurry as she had to do press, so just went through and signed. KLC-she is absolutely beautiful.
The show itself was amazing, we had GREAT seats, 6th Row right in front of Mavid!! It was great to have gone to Chicago, one of the earlier shows and this one, one of the last, I could see a HUGE difference in how they have all grown as performers. Everyone as great, I have to say I was really impressed with Syesha. She blew me away last night. Archie has really grown up in the last couple months-the kid is just amazing live. Cook, well what can I say!! He totally owns that stage. I spent most of his set taking pictures and video, but I did get a wave from him :-) He was on FIRE last night.
You have all heard the recaps of Mavid, so will leave it as that. Cook can definitely SHAKE IT.
I am sorry the call dropped on you guys, it had good signal, so I don't know why it did. I was no where near the phone, I just called and put it down on the seat-I was up closer to the stage getting the pictures and video. I'm not sure who you ended up calling to get it, but THANK YOU to that person for saving my tail-I would hate to have the Rickey.org lynch mob after me for not getting our boys!!
