David Cook and Michael Johns - Mavid Report - Green Bay, WI - 09/02/08
(Here's the Mavid Report from Sammi in Green Bay, WI! No buses or after party for David Cook because he flew to Chicago. Sammi was one of our cellcasters that night.)
Well, I'm just going to do the highlights..
We got to the venue ridiculously early, as in like 10:45AM. We stood in the blazing hot sun with some not nice fans. The group was relatively small even when it got closer and closer to go time. Around 2 or 2:30, Kristy Lee, Brooke, and Archie came out. They all signed and posed for pictures. Archie was on vocal rest. Stacey talked to Jeff Archuleta a lot, and a few of the security people she made friends with in KC. She had a picture of her and DC and had written her name on the back explaining what it was she had done to get the KC afterparty passes etc etc, then she and Security Dave were talking about some lady in Arizona and her tattoo, so Stacey mentioned mine and I showed Security Dave who called over Ray and they were looking at it and took a picture of it. Security Dave gave me one of DC's stamped guitar picks and then they disappeared. S. Dave came back out with AP passes for us. Stacey because of her ACS thing and me because of my tattoo. S. Dave told me not to turn out to be a wackadoo, which was hilarious. Jason and Ramiele came out after that, signed, did pictures, basically everything. The other five never came out in the afternoon.
The show was one of the least energetic crowds ever. The whole back of the stadium was empty. We had front row Mavid Dance seats. They were off to the side but they were perfect for me.
We all know how the show goes..it was pretty epic. They tried to get some crowd interaction but it just wasn't happening. Everyone sounded great, though. There was little to no banter from anyone.

We waited until we were escorted into a small room for the afterparty. It was really tiny and surprisingly calm. Stacey was looking for Ramiele but she was nowhere to be found. DC was not in there so I headed straight for MJ because those are the only two people I truly like. I talked to MJ for a while and then we filtered around so Stacey could get autographs and pics with most of the rest of the idols. I talked to Chikezie for Desi and got a pic with him, Carly, and then another picture with MJ(funny face!) We were then informed that DC..who we were given passes on behalf of, and there were a few other people with passes from him as well, had already left to fly to Chicago for Oprah in the morning. I'm going to be honest, it ruined my whole night. I understand he has obligations, but why are there passes going out on his behalf and no mention of him not being there you know?
So we left, me angry and Stacey disappointed. As we were walking out, KLC and MJ were going to the crowd at the buses. According to other reports, everyone except DC and Rami came out to the buses as well.
So overall, good show, crappy DC experience, and MJ is the best.
