David Cook and David Archuleta - Dominate iTunes Charts - 05/24/08

David Cook and David Archuleta occupy 6 places in the iTunes Top 10 today. I just realized how impressive this is.

Last year, I believe Blake Lewis outsold Jordin Sparks on iTunes after the finale (correct me if I'm wrong on this) -- but neither of them sold as high as David Cook and David Archuleta. I don't think they even reached the Top 10. Granted iTunes was heavily promoted this year on the show, it's still amazing how American Idol is dominating iTunes right now. David Archuleta's "Imagine" is just inside the Top 20 as well.

I had no doubt that David Cook will do well with sales -- as I have been reporting here in Rickey.org over the past few weeks -- but the fact that Runner Up David Archuleta is no push-over should make Simon Cowell and co. very happy. A total win-win for American Idol. Now that the Idol tracks are in "plain view" on the iTunes Top 10 chart, users will keep on buying the music!

I am very excited over the future now. Could this be it? With the lessons learned this season -- could Season 8 be the best season ever?
