David Cook - American Idol 7 Top 12 - Cast Party

David Cook at the American Idol Top 12 cast party.

David Cook's interpretation of Lionel Richie's "Hello" put him firmly in contention for this year's American Idol. However, the best that David Cook can hope for is the Daughtry effect, as it seems that the type of fans David Cook attracts are not the type who will dial his number for 2 hours on Tuesday. They will however buy his music -- so for as long as American Idol can see this in music sales on iTunes, David Cook will move forward.

The interesting thing is that I see David Cook and Michael Johns appealing to the same fan base and therefore one of them will have to be eliminated early. Right now David Cook has the upper hand, but it can still change. So therefore I am giving David Cook the same odds as Michael Johns.

David Cook -- Happy Together
