The Early Years

David Archuleta on Star Search

David Archuleta is clearly the front-runner this year judging by the fan reaction everywhere. Look for Simon Cowell and Nigel Lythgoe to play this down once we get to the Top 12 so it will not seem that David Archuleta is going wire-to-wire. Truth is, David will go wire-to-wire just like Carrie Underwood. The smokescreens will be Carly Smithson, Michael Johns, probably Jason Castro, and Ramiele Malubay. But in the end David Archuleta will win American Idol, and yes he will cry and the world will be perfect.

I've been listening to Boomer and Carlton in the morning on WFAN in New York and they talked about David Archuleta the other day. When hard-core sportscasters end up talking about David Archuleta of all people, you know that David's appeal is far-reaching.
