Tulsa Oklahoma Concert Review Recap

We drove down in the hurricane. It took about 2.5 hours to get to Tulsa. Once there, we checked into our hotel, got lunch, and then headed over to the BOK Center. It was around 12:15 when we got there and we were 3-4 people back at the shortest spot in the crowd. We knew that it was going to be next to impossible to get any autographs/time with the Idols. While we were waiting, it started down pouring about 20 minutes before the idols came out. First out, around 2:20 was Kristy Lee Cook. Next was Archie. I got Kristy Lee’s autograph by the girl in front of me passing it up to her (this is how I got all my autographs J). By the way, I was in the Cookie section, they were all very friendly and nice to me. Brooke came out somewhere in there, she was next to get to me. I passed my picture to get autographed. Next came Jason, he got to me about the same time as Archie. Seemed like they were all rushing trying to get through the crowd. I passed my shirt and towel up to get it signed, almost didn’t, but I finally got it. Somewhere in there was David Cook and the girls in my section were elated. After David Cook came through, some of the people left. After I got my autographs I wanted, I left. It was very hot and humid, wet, and stuffy in there. And did I say it was crowded and pushy? I was getting pushed from all sides. David Cook did tell someone to stop pushing.

Next was the concert.

I got 2 tickets, one was further back (my son used it) and mine was in the 10th floor row, way on the left. As it turned out, I was once again surrounded by Cook fans, not that it was bad, they were all nice to me. I found out that 2 girls behind me were about an hour from where I live, small world. Chickeze was up first and he was rocking the place and getting emotional. I knew then that it was going to be a tearjerking concert. Next was Ramiele, she wasn’t going to cry she said. Not sure if she did, she is so cute. Next was Michael Johns, he was rocking and dancing like crazy! Loves his set, he is hilarious. Next up was Carly, she can blow those pipes!!! My son was very impressed with her he said (I am bias so I wanted his opinion)… Where was Kristy Lee? She came out somewhere too and did a great job. I did notice that on God Bless the USA most of the people weren’t standing until almost the end of the song. I stood through the whole thing, great job on the song. Next was Brooke, she was getting into the piano on Let it Be and she did a great job. On 1,2,3,4, Michael Johns came out and was clicking with her and dancing. Next was intermission.

Jason was up first after intermission and you could feel it was getting exciting in there. He did a great job on Crazy, loved his Daydream and Over the Rainbow. Seemed like his set was very short. (I am a dreadhead, bear that in mind). He did a great job! Next was Syesha, I liked her set, she seemed to be reminiscing a lot, like most of them were. She was in tears at the end of her last song. Next was David A, boy, was I impressed with him! Loved the Angels song, he was really getting into the piano playing! Next was Apologize, he did great with that one too (sorry guys, I am an Archie through and through). Did Stand by Me and loved the dance moves!!! Last one was When You Say You Love Me, he was almost in tears before it because the applause was so much. He introduced David Cook, wow he did a great job! His brother was out in the audience and his mama. He interacted with the crowd and they loved it! Next was the group number, it was hilarious. Silly string everywhere, panties everywhere, Archie was so funny with that. I really couldn’t see too much at the end when they all came out for the group hug, it was dark in there, why didn’t they turn up the house lights? Weird. Anyway, I heard they canceled the after party. We went outside and the wind was blowing about 50 miles per hour. Walked back to the hotel. Tried to sleep that night but someone next to us was partying until about 3 in the morning, argh. Cleaning people were knocking next door at 7:30 a.m.

Was a great time, loved the concert! (I’m not so good with words, sorry)

My son said his favorite was Archie (surprised me!), next was Cook. He is a rocker, but he said Archie did really well in the concert and he was impressed! (Me Too!)
