David Archuleta - Archey Report - "Crush" Casting Call in Atlanta

(Here's the Archey Report of Klope from the "Crush" Casting Call! Omigosh we had Archeys over there!)

It was yesterday in Atlanta.

I went compliments of Kathleen who is an avid David A., and Rickey.org fan. It was kind of a last minute thing, but we actually came through and did it. We first had to put together some Comp Cards. I busted open Photoshop and just went for it. I came out with this for mine, and this for hers. Because everything was so last minute, I actually ended staying up until about 7:00 am doing it, and finally went to sleep after being satisfied with mine. Haha, I only woke up because of the text signal from my phone, and it was Kathleen saying that she was on her way. I had to rush up, put some clothes on, get ready and all that good stuff. She came, and first we had to take care of some stuff in Atlanta. We did, and then we went to Kinkos to print out the cards, which turned out to be a more daunting task than imagined, but, it worked. We went back to her place for her to change and get ready, while I cut our cards out, and then we were on our way to the place. The casting was 5:00-8:00, we arrived there about 6:15. We walked up a small flight of stairs, and then we were greeted and asked for our Comp Cards. She saw me, and then asked if I was signed to an agency, I told her no, and then she asked for my Comp Card, and then said it again, "No Agency?!"...Haha, I still can't tell if it was a good reaction or not, but she had one. Haha, they took our Comp Cards, and stapled them to the back of the form. Then also gave us casting numbers. I was 46 and she was 47. We sat down, and they were calling numbers up while we were filling out the form (there was a box that asked if we would be interested in also being an Extra and we made sure we checked it). They were already in the early 30s, so we didn't have that much time to go. We just sat, and passed nervous vibes between each other. We noticed that it was clear that most of the people there were established models, actors, whatever...and it seemed like they all knew each other, so we were thinking that maybe they were all apart of the same agency or something. We also noticed a few folks that looked way too tall to be approved for a David A video (haha). Bottom line is, we stuck out, and it is hard to say whether or not that was a good thing.

They were also calling number to snap a quick digital picture. We went up...held up our number, and got our picture taken. We then sat back down, and they were in the early 40s in no time. Pretty soon they called my number, 46, and I went up. They led us back behind this curtain thing. There was this one lady, and then this dude that was filming. He said 'when you hear the beep, give your name, age, casting #, and why you should be in the video". I don't think my video was great, haha. I know I said "um" a few times (trying the remember the order of what he said we had to say..haha), and my answer for "why should you be in the video" wasn't great either. Haha, it could have been so much better if I knew what they were going to ask before hand (y'know?), but ah well. Afterwards, that was it..they took me out of the room and they called the next person (Kathleen). I sat in the lobby, and they called her up. She came out shortly after and I told her to take some pictures. She was hesitant, so I took the camera and took them without flash, for her sake. Haha, they came out blurry but oh well. We just sat for a couple more minutes, then left.

So, now we're playing the waiting game. The video shoots on Tuesday the 19th, so, I can imagine if we do not hear anything by Monday, that we did not get a part. Haha, however, we're really both hoping for a spot as an extra. There is a very good chance we can get one, it seems. We left about 7:00, and the numbers were only in the 50s. The casting had a posted ending time at 8:00, so I imagine not that many more people came in. I'll be generous and say maybe 70-100 total. So, hopefully they need a lot of people to just be in the background or whatever.

I'm not sure what is going to happen but we will be sure to keep Rickey.org and everyone updated. Especially if we make the video! :D
