(Here's an Archey Report from Joni in Chicago! Woohoo!)
The Chi-Town Connection…AM
First, I would like to start out by stating that I have complete laryngitis this morning (NO I’M NOT KIDDING - COMPLETELY GONE!). What’s most disturbing is how content my husband looks about this current manifestation. Could it be that he is looking forward to a reprieve from me constantly talking about David ??? Enjoy your day dear!
AM - I found out that the Fan Blast Shout Out had been cancelled but went anyway. When I arrived a little after 12:00 noon, there were already close to 200 people there. I met FOXHUNT95 from Fan Blast forums *waves* and JANE (I’m a lurker, not a poster) and her daughter . She noticed my “Bianca” T-shirt which led to the discovery that I was JONER and she’s like “I KNOW YOU!, I see your posts at Rickeys!!!” (Oh-Oh… frantically searching my memory banks of past posts to determine if that’s a good thing or a bad thing!). JANE (I know you’re lurking), had a blast with you my ODD compadres! *waving*
Long story short…all the Idols came out except for the Chikezie and The Davids. At 3:30, just as I was about to call it a day, everyone starts screaming. At first all I saw was Jeff, then all of a sudden here comes David running through the parking lot towards the line of fans at the fence. (Major heart palpitations) He chose to start at the left side where I was (bowing down to angels of good fortune) and quickly started signing things. You could tell he was extremely rushed and clearly concerned about not having the time to get to everyone. He smiled and laughed at the “Hunkerdown” poster as he frantically read thru it and asked “what’s this?” For some reason I thought he was referring to the second picture of Cook because it was dark and hard to make out so I clarified what it was and he was like “Oh, ya, I felt really bad for Cook” as he signed it then someone asked “but Cook is OK now, right?” and he said he was, then he had to move on. My whole encounter just flew by and I never got a chance to even look at him face to face. As he moved on to the next group, I was just staring and smiling at him, then for some reason, he broke eye contact with them and turned and looked directly at me with THOSE EYES. I honestly felt like a kid caught with their hand in the candy jar! I almost blushed and literally had to catch my breath then it was over…
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I still can’t believe I actually met him (pinching myself)!!! Sigh……….He is absolutely adorable! Sigh again…THUD! Guh….I love this kid!!
Thank goodness I captured some very short videos and pictures of him to treasure.
