David Archuleta - Archey Report - Albany, NY - 08/06/08

(Here's the Archey Report from Melissa from Albany, NY! Thanks! Great pictures with David Archuleta!)
Ok so my day started around 10 am when I woke up. I live literally 10 minutes away from albany so I didn't have to travel far for the show. I got to the venue around 12:10 after getting lost lol. I live near albany but I don't go downtown that much so I don't really know my way around. So my mom and I got lost for a little while but we eventually found it and saw the tour buses parked in the back and started freaking out. So we parked on the street and put some quarters in the parking meter for the maximum time which was 2 hours. So we were walking in front of the Times Union Center looking for where we saw the buses and saw this girl with an archey t-shirt and poster and we said "are you looking for the american idols?" and she said "YEAH which one do you like?" and I said "David Archuleta!!" and she said "me too"!! So we walked to the buses together with our moms and there was a group of fans waiting at the barricades and there was literally maybe 30 people there.
So we got a spot in line and waited for like 2 hours. We saw the buses in front of us and thought that those were the buses that the idols were on but they weren't. They were just the buses for the band because we saw them bringing the set into the arena. We heard that there was another group of fans waiting on the other side of the arena so we walked over there to check it out. There were only about 20 people on the other side so we went over there for a couple minutes and walked back because we heard that somebody thought that they saw jeff archuleta ( but it turns out that it wasn't him). But we ran back to where we were anyways. So after waiting in the heat for about two hours, we heard that the idols were running a half an hour late and would show up where we were standing. So finally three tour buses pull up around the corner and right past us and we all started screaming and showing the buses our signs. They parked on the other side of the arena underground. At around 2:45 David Cook came out!! We all started freaking out. We also saw this kid walk out of the arena and it sort of looked like archie so we all started screaming but it was just a look alike. Cook signed my poster and I asked him if he could sign "To Melissa" and he wrote that and then stopped and then said to me "oh i should sign that too shouldn't I" because he forgot his signature lol. I tried to get a picture with him too but he was moving really fast down the line so I just got pictures of him. While david was still signing, brooke and kristy lee came out together. They both signed my poster as well and I got pictures with them. Brooke and Kristy are so tiny! Brooke was soo nice. Kristy was wearing American Eagle sweatpants and I work at AE and I was like "omg she's wearing our sweatpants!" After kristy and brooke finished their fast signing, Jason Castro came out and the girls went crazy. He took his time with every fan and took pictures with them and looked at them after to see if they were ok. He's so sweet. So after jason was done, we waited for a little while....and then DAVID ARCHULETA came out :-D. He was signing autographs for literally 45 minutes. He took his time and made sure everyone had their posters and pictures signed. When he came over to me he signed this poster that these older ladies made for him that was hanging right in front of me (which I later got to keep). We asked him if he read it and he looked at it and said aww. Before he signed my poster he asked me if he had any marker on his chin and I looked at it (and saw a little stubble but thats ok :-P) and said no you're good. So he signed my poster "To Melissa" and then I asked for a picture with him and he said yes. Then he went down the line for a while and when he walked back he was giving everyone high fives and I gave him one and I said "can I have a hug?" and he said "sure". It was the best moment of my life lol. My mom tried to get a picture of him hugging me but she had just taken one of him giving me a high five so it was too late but thats ok. After archie left, we waited for a while and then syesha came out. I didn't even know she was at the end of the line because I didn't hear any screams or anything. She signed my poster and I got a picture with her. I looked at her shorts and I saw that they were the same ones I was wearing :). I told her that we were wearing the same shorts. I then asked her if they were from american eagle and she said yeah girl. After she was done and left, we waited for a while, and we were thinking about leaving but then carly came out. She said that she was sorry but could not take any pictures with fans. She went down the line very fast signing autographs and then left. By now it was around 4 and we decided to leave and go home.
We left around 6 to go to the concert and we decided to park at the Empire State Plaza underground parking but that was not a good idea. I heard that it connected to the Times Union Center somehow but we got lost. We asked so many people how to get to the venue and we totally went out of our way. This state trooper finally helped us and we had to go through this place called The Egg and go to the bottom of that, and then that would take us to the Times Union Center walkway. We got there late and missed chikezie's first two songs but I didn't mind because I've seen them on youtube 100 times lol.
Chikezie- So High was really good. He can definately hit those high notes. The crowd liked him as well.
Ramiele- She is so adorable. Her songs were alright. I want you back was ok but I liked her second one the best. Her rihanna song was good too. I got a video of her last song but I just found out that my digital camera doesn't record sound :(
Michael Johns- OMG he is amazing. He got the crowd going and they LOVED him. He was definately one of my favorites. I was singing every word to every song. He is definately a rocker and knows what he's doing. I love when he hits his high notes :) He definately went home WAY too early from the show.
Kristy Lee Cook- She was so much better in concert than she was on the show. She worked the stage a lot and I really liked her songs. Her first song Squeezin The Love Outta You is stuck in my head and I can't get it out lol. I think she will have a really good career.
Carly Smithson- I loved Bring Me To Life. Her voice is so amazing it gives me chills. I really liked Crazy On You as well. I didn't really know the last song as well as the first two so I didn't like it as much but she still put on three great performances. I would totally buy her album.
Brooke White- Amazing. When she came up on the piano, it was perfect. I love the beatles and Let It Be and she gave such a heartfelt performance. 1,2,3,4 was really cute. She was so adorable snapping on stage to the song. Yellow was amazing as well. I'm going to buy her cd as well :)
Jason Castro- He's such a chill, laid back kind of guy. I loved all of his songs. Somewhere Over The Rainbow was amazing. As were his other songs. It felt like he was on stage for a really short time though :(
Syesha Mercado- Loved it :) She has such a powerful voice and can really sing. I loved all three of her songs. I loved how she arranged her alicia keys song. I feel like it was a little different than when she did it on the show. It was perfect.
David Archuleta- where do I begin lol. The TU center went crazy for him. I loved every moment that he was on the stage. Every note was perfect and I loved how he got into all of his songs. I can't pick a favorite song that he did. They were all amazing. I took a couple videos but there's no sound on them :( I really hope I get to see him in concert again and I can't wait to buy his album :-D
David Cook- omg he is amazing as well. He really knows what he's doing and knows how to work the crowd. Every song was amazing. After he announced that the song was called My Hero and that it was dedicated to his brother, he said "get up!" and literally the whole arena was thinking "david cook just told us to get up so let's do it" lol. He was so good on stage.
I had such an amazing day and I wish that it never ended. I can't wait for them to have their own tours :)
