David Archuleta - Archey Report #1 - Houston, TX - 08/24/08

(Here's the Archey Report from Mallory in Houston, TX! She was one of our cellcasters last night! Yay!)

The morning of the show we arrived at the Toyota Center at 11:30am. We got in line right up front. At 12 o'clock the manager came out and someone asked him how much longer and he said "2 hours". Well its Texas, so 3 hours in the heat made us sick but it was all worth it. At about 2pm I got on the phone to check for who I needed to cellcast for and then I heard screaming, I turned around to see David Cook,Carly Smithson & Jason Castro. Cook moved down the line, but he passed me up when a girl threw her poster infront of me. Then Cook had to go so they sent out Kristy and Brooke. Then Carly finally came to us and she said "Texas kills my hair" and we all laughed, Carly is just flawless,she is so pretty. Then when Brooke was standing right infront of my signing my friends shirt David Archuleta came running out the doors and I screamed and Brooke made a funny face and I had to apologize lol. So I was just watching David waiting for him to come, and then I turned around to see Jason and was like "Oh hey" and he laughed and signed my shirt. I then turned back to see David coming closer, I screamed and almost cried. When he was just two people down someone asked "Can I havea hug?" then his body guard said "Hes not feeling too well today so you cant get close" and then David said "Im sorry" and moved to the next person, which was my freind. I cried as I asked him to sign my shirt and he did, then I asked for a picture and he said sure! I took the picture and he moved to the next person. The picture wasnt the best but it was good that I atleast got us in it. Then as he moved down the people at the end started to sing "Crush" and he started dancing to it, it was adorable. Then all the idols had to go in and he waved to all of us and said "Have fun!" and we all waved and said bye. Then we all screamed for Daddy Archuleta to come over, he came over and said that he had to go in with David but he came to say hi & shake hands. He is truely an amazing Dad, all of those stage Dad stories about him were definetly not true. So then there were no idols, Michael,Syesha,Chikeze & Ramielle never came out, so we went ahead and left on account of the heat.

Its now 6pm and the doors were openeing, we had just parked and were ready to go. We got in and found our seats, and even though our seats were kind of back, we had really good seats, we couldnt see their faces but we could see them. I am not a fan of Chikeze at all but I was so pumped that I was into his performance. Ramielle was so adorable and really good, I was surprised she was really that short. Michael Johns was simply amazing, I recorded him singing "Dream On" and "We are the Champions". Everyone one was amazing, I loved it. But when Carly came out she told us that they had a few days off in Houston and Kristy took her to her first rodeo and she sat on a live bull, now she said the name of the bull but I forget what it was. When Brooke came out she said she had went to the "humungo" mall that we have, I died laughing, and then she said "But hey everything is bigger in Texas right?" and of course everyone screamed! Jason came on after intermission, and I never liked him personally but I found him alot better live than when he was on American Idol. When Syesha came on I got extremely nervous cause I knew Archie was next. She finished her last song, in which her whole performance was amazing. Then she introduced Archie, and then you saw tons of smoke and him coming up on the stage playing the grande piano, I stood up screaming and crying the whole time he sang. Angles is one of my favorites by him and I was so weak. Then he went right into "Apologize" and I cried even more. He then took a breath and thanked all of us for supporting him and the rest of the idols on their journey, and everyone screamed. During "Stand by Me" he did his little dance, and it was the cutest thing I have ever seen. When he finished his performance with "When you say you love me" I cried my eyes out, he was simple phenominal and I loved every minute of it. He then intoduced Cook and I wanted to cry cause I didnt want him to go. Cook came out nad the stadium got super duper loud that you could not even hear yourself think. I have always liked Cook, so I was into "Time of my life" but it honestly made me think of the fianle so I cried all over again. Then the show eneded with "Please sont stop the music" and it was so funny. When both Davids went to the center of the circle at the end of the song, Cook got down on his knee and put his head down while raising his hand to Archie. Then Archie jumped up and down while pointing at Cook and he tried to lifet him by his jacket with one hand, but that didnt work, then he tried to use both hands while jumping and you heard everyone laughing. This day was the best day of my entire life, everyone of the Idols did amazing, they all sound better than they did on Idol, some better than others. This is a day I'll never forget and I have to thank David Archuleta for that, he was so sweet. I hope you guys get to go, or you experience was as great as mine. I cant wait till Archie has his own tour :]
