David Archuleta - Archey Report #1 - Columbus, OH - 07/20/08

(Here's an Archey Report from Molly from Columbus, OH! Thanks!)

The best day of my life started when I arrived at the Schottenstein Center at about 11:50am. When I got there, about 80 people were there, but we found a really good spot in the line. There was a little boy there with a cute shirt on. It was "I'm here because my sisters are crazy for Archuleta." My mom got a picture of it! hah. We were there for about an hour when we met a lady, her husband, and her two kids that were Archuleta fans too! We had fun talking with them, until the buses finally pulled up at around 2:00. We heard screams as each contestant got off the bus, and when David finally got off, we screamed and waved. He waved back at us. We did the same for his dad!! The contestants went into the arena with their luggage. First to come out was Kristy Lee, Syesha, Ramiele, and Brooke. Kristy Lee was extremely gorgeous and she was really nice. My dad was a huge Kristy fan, so I asked her if she would call him and say hi, and she did! Then she signed my program, and she had to go do press. Syesha, Ramiele, and Brooke were next. Syesha was really pretty too, and she signed my program, as well as Ramiele and Brooke. I got my picture taken with Brooke, since I was a big fan of her this season. Jason came out next, and I was surprised at how handsome he was! He came over to us, and signed my program, and then I got my picture taken with him. I got to feel his dreads!! They were super cool. My mom kept calling him Mr. Castro..haha he thought that was really funny! Then the most amazing thing happened. David Archuleta came out!! When he got to our spot in line, I said "Hi David, How are you!?" and he looked at me STRAIGHT IN THE EYE and smiled. He said "I'm great, how are you!?" I'm not even kidding, he was one of the most gorgeous people I've ever met in my entire life. His eyes were sooo pretty! He signed my program, and unfortunately, he couldn't take pictures because he had to rush to do press. My mom asked him if his dad was going to come out, because we wanted to see him, and he laughed and said 'I don't know..haha" Jeff never came out though. lol. But me and him talked for a while and my mom got my picture talking to him. When he went to the girl next to me, his arm bumped mine and he giggled and said "Oh I'm So Sorry!!" I was like, "It's okay!" My mom got a picture of his face when he bumped me! haha. One of the most surprising things about David Archuleta that I found out was that he smelled absolutely AMAZING. haah. I don't know what it was, but he smelled really good. When he was finished, he ran back down to the buses. Everyone screamed goodbye, but only me and my group screamed goodbye a second time, and he leaned back, looked at us, and waved!! haha. I never thought I'd get to meet David Archuleta, but I'm soo glad that I did! It was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. David Cook came out next, but he just signed autographs. The only people that didn't come out were Chikezie, Michael Johns, and Carly. I figured that they had press to do. Waiting in the 90 degree weather for David Archuleta, I must say, was definately worth it!!

Then the time came for the concert at 7:00. Everyone was really good, and I thought it was incredible to see everyone live. People that I wasn't a fan of on the show, made me a fan. Kristy Lee was really really good and Jason Castro blew me away! Maybe it was the fact that I had touched him earlier in the day..which made me a bit star-struck! lol. Michael Johns got the crowd excited too. At Syesha's last song, I got up and screamed as loud as I could! David was next. Angels was absolutely breathtaking. It gave me chills the minute the piano raised from the floor. His voice was sooo good. It's one of those voices that sounds even better live. His voice filled the arena. Apologize was really, really good too. Stand By Me was a really fun song to watch him sing. He told us thank you for 'standing by me' and he started to sing. His dance moves were soo funny! haha. His last song just about brought me to tears. His voice was SOOO powerful and strong for his age. It's so weird to think he's only two years older than me! Cook performed next, and he was pretty good. I just can't bring myself to like him as much as Archie. The Columbus crowd was definately a "Cook" crowd. "Please Don't Stop the Music" was really fun. David didn't wear the Harry Potter outfit!! haha He had on slacks, shiny shoes, and a white short sleeved dress shirt with a black tie. It was really cool. Overall, this was one of the best experiences of my life, and I'll never forget it.
