Dave Grohl Plays Unannounced Set At Nashville's Bluebird Cafe
Dave Grohl turned up to Nashville's prestigious songwriters venue The Bluebird Cafe last night (May 7) unannounced, and played an hour's set to a crowd of less than 100 people.
Introducing himself by saying "My name's Dave Grohl. I'm a drummer", he played between 7 and 8pm as part of a songwriter "in the round" session.

Dave's set included 'Times Like These', 'Big Me', 'Friend of a Friend', 'My Hero', 'Skin and Bones', 'Wheels', 'Learn To Fly', 'Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners' and 'Everlong'. It's not clear why he turned up to play in Nashville, although he has been working with Zac Brown Band, producing their December 2013-released EP The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1, and apparently working on more music with them. It also might not be a coincidence that the first EP is slated for physical release on May 19.
"The heart and soul of this city is in the music and the musicians," Dave said. "It is an honor to be here."
