Well, kiss him goodbye, he's Irish.
Danny O'Donoghue, frontman for The Script, has confirmed that he will not be returning as a coach on The Voice UK, reports BBC News.
"I had two wonderful seasons on The Voice and as everybody knows I gave it my heart and soul and couldn't be more proud of the show and what we have achieved," the Irish-born rocker wrote on his Twitter account.
"My focus will be on The Script moving forward as we are about to embark on the most important part of our career as a band."
O'Donoghue was mentor of the winning act in the 2013 season of the show, partially blind singer Andrea Begley.
Andrea tweeted: "@TheScript_Danny was such a great coach on The Voice, it was incredible to work with him. I wish him and the band the best luck in the future!"
O'Donoghue has been with the UK version of the show since the beginning, coaching runner-up Bo Bruce in the first season of the show. Reports suggested, at the time, that the pair were romantically involved, but O'Donoghue insisted they were only working together. "For me I was more impressed by her story," said the rocker, referring to the death of Bo's mother shortly after the series finished. "About how she can overcome tragedy. It's such a powerful message."
Mark Linsey, the BBC's controller of entertainment commissioning, said: "The Voice coaches are all current music stars with recording and touring careers to manage alongside the show and we know this can be difficult to juggle."
The news comes on the heels of the announcement of fellow coach Jessie J, who has confirmed that she is also exiting the singing competition series.
