Danny Gokey - Idolatry Interview
Michael Slezak interviews Danny Gokey on EW Idolatry.
Part 3 of this interview was simply amazing since Danny talked about the Scream On performance and how he read viewer reaction on the Internet about it. He read Rickey.org! Ring tone FTW! It was nice to know he had a sense of humor about it.
The rest however is vintage Danny Gokey trainwreck Q&A. This interview is like a Scream On interview version. Michael shut his mouth most of the time as Danny rambled on about coming on the show to get the message out about his wife and the foundation, how he was over-analyzing the competition and how he wants to start a movement and not just make music. It sounds like I'm making this up but you just have to watch.
Also: Now we know why Kris Allen looked so pissed after he and Danny sang "Renegade". Kris chose the song after Danny's song choice "did not fit" -- and then Simon Cowell goes out of his way to say that Danny was better at it. Nice.
Many times I felt sorry for Danny in this interview. He seemed really lost. It is more tragic because it seems he had always been this way, and the show hid this from us by parading him as a potential winner.
