Week 5 Summary
| Couple | Score | Dance | Results |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drew Carey & Cheryl Burke | 28 (7,7,7,7) | Quickstep - Watch Video | SAFE |
|
Review: Music from Aladdin. This included some animation from Genie! I thought that Drew was out of time mostly, but he gives it his all. Carrie Ann Inaba: When you lose focus you make a bit of a strange face. Len Goodman: It was zippity dooda. The performance had plenty of zip, the technique was very dooda. Donny Osmond: If you put an arm out, it has to come from the core. Bruno Tonioli: It was almost Aladdin on a nervous breakdown. | |||
| Charlie White & Sharna Burgess | 37 (9,10,9,9) | Jazz - Watch Video | SAFE |
|
Review: Music from Mary Poppins. Charlie continues to be one of the best 'stars' on the show this season. I think maybe the choreography could have improved a bit. It was a bit dry for me and the backup dancers were distracting in the end.
Carrie Ann Inaba: You're like a wave of happiness. Len Goodman: That was eye-popping. That as a performance was fantastic. Donny Osmond: That was an amazing performance. I was worried you were going to drop the cane, and you dropped the cane. Bruno Tonioli: That was one of the best performance you've ever done. | |||
| Danica McKellar & Val Chmerkovskiy | 39 (10,9,10,10) | Quickstep - Watch Video | SAFE |
|
Review: Music from Beauty and the Beast. This was so cute!!! The assist from the other pros was well utilized here. Val has turned into a great professional partner through the seasons. Good job.
Carrie Ann Inaba: (Hugs Danica) You were gorgeous. The line was fantastic, beautiful hold. Len Goodman: You lost body contact a little bit. It had speed and control. Danica you are a fantastic dancer. Donny Osmond: I was hoping I would like this... despite the fact the Val phoned it in tonight (LOL!!!) both of you knocked it out of the park tonight. Bruno Tonioli: Your improvement is incredible. Stupendous. | |||
| Amy Purdy & Derek Hough | 37 (9,9,10,9) | Waltz - Watch Video | SAFE |
|
Review: Music from Cinderella. Beautiful! Beautiful! I love this. What a pretty couple. So good. Amy is such an inspiration.
Carrie Ann Inaba: The bad news is that I always call lifts, but I cannot subtract for you. I hope Disney makes their next princess for you. Len Goodman: I would have like a bit more hold Derek. That was beautiful. Donny Osmond: I don't know how you are doing it, but you are doing it. I literally cried. You are more than inspiring. Bruno Tonioli: You've never looked more beautiful. | |||
| Cody Simpson & Witney Carson | 34 (9,8,8,9) | Samba - Watch Video | IN JEOPARDY |
|
Review: Music from The Lion King. So cute that Cody wrote Witney a song. Cody was really into this dance! Nice.
Carrie Ann Inaba: Tonight I bought the power of Cody. Len Goodman: I like the energy. You really came out and sold that. Donny Osmond: I thought the dancing was phenomenal. It didn't come across like you enjoyed the dance. You were "working the dance". I didn't see happiness and joy. Bruno Tonioli: Simba brought the Samba out of Africa. You have incredible energy. You're great. | |||
| NeNe Leakes & Tony Dovolani | 36 (9,9,9,9) | Foxtrot - Watch Video | IN JEOPARDY |
| Review: Music from 101 Dalmatians | |||
| James Maslow & Peta Murgatroyd | 40 (10,10,10,10) | Contemporary - Watch Video | SAFE |
| Review: Music from Frozen! PERFECTION!!! | |||
| Meryl Davis & Maks Chmerkovskiy | 36 (9,9,9,9) | Samba - Watch Video | SAFE |
|
Review: Music from Jungle Book! Shirtless Jungle Book Maks is perfect!!!
Carrie Ann Inaba: I've never seen Maks dance in tune. There's something special here. Len Goodman: Wammoo of a Samba. Donny Osmond: You guys have set the bar so high. Thoroughly entertaining. Bruno Tonioli: It really was a wonderful dance. | |||
| Candace Cameron Bure & Mark Ballas | 35 (8,9,9,9) | Samba - Watch Video | IN JEOPARDY |
| Review: Music from Little Mermaid | |||
