Dance Moms - Season 4 Episode 23 - Recap - No Room For Rotten Apples

Lifetime has obviously run into some scheduling conflicts with the latest episodes of Dance Moms. In season 4 episode 23 "No Room For Rotten Apples" it was yet another episode with barely any Abby and absolutely no Dance Moms or any of the kids. How can you have an episode of Dance Moms without the Dance Moms?

Abby is off filming the second season of her reality series Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition and she has taken Maddie with her. Maddie is practicing for an appearance on the reality program and this is all we see of the two of them for the entire episode. Tonight, it's another episode of The Candy Apple Show.

Cathy is determined to trim her team of the weak links and get down to 5 members. This week, she has pinned Jalen and newcomer Mari against each other by giving them each a solo. Jalen needs to prove that he isn't a one trick pony and can do more than spin on his head. Honestly, I think his biggest problem is his extremely unlikeable father. Mari struggles with confidence and asthma attacks, brought on by fear of choreographer Anthony.

This episode is pretty much a snoozer. No one is watching for Cathy by herself. No one is watching to see her and Vivi categorize bunny statues in her home. Where are our Dance Moms?

Cathy and Anthony continue to butt heads over his technique and attitude and Rick continues to start fights with the other parents. He starts an argument with Anthony over Jalen having to do pushups and the girls not having to. Anthony justifies himself by saying he doesn't want the girls doing pushups because they'll end up looking like a "He-man." Perhaps it's time to cut Anthony?

This episode features a guest appearance by Malik So Chic who turns up to watch the kids perform.

Those are some unattractive numbers. While this episode doesn't give us a glimpse at the end of the fight between Jill and Black Patsy, it doesn't give us Cathy's decision either. We'll have to wait for next time.
