Dance Moms – Season 3 Episode 8 – Recap – You’ve Been Unfriended
The recap of Dance Moms – Season 3 Episode 8 – “You’ve Been Unfriended”:
I’m glad that Christi and Chloe are back in the picture. I missed Christi’s sense of humor as well as her “I don’t give a crap about anything” attitude last week. Last week: we sat through a mind-numbingly irritating episode (that Cathy was heavily featured in). Btw, Cathy really gets under my skin because she pushes people’s buttons. With that said, I will give credit where credit is due—Cathy should get a nod for the best actress on the show. /sarcasm
WARNING: I will be rehashing many of the quotes that Abby and the dance moms said to one another. You will see graphic language in this recap. This is an extremely controversial series, and none of the following quotes should be taken to heart.
Let’s get right to the recap:
Christi and Chloe tried to apologize for their “behavior” two weeks prior, but Abby wasn’t having any of that. Abby said the following words about Christi: “She has b*lls. She has big b*lls like a man. ‘Cause that’s what she is. She is disgusting.”
Abby wasn’t expecting Christi and Chloe to return to the studio because she had suspended them for the time being.
Then, Abby stepped into Studio A to address the “Cathy” situation from last week. After Cathy’s boys beat Abby’s girls at the dance competition last week, this is what Abby had to say about Cathy: “She’s an embarrassment to my vocation.”

Here is how the pyramid went down this week (from bottom-most to top-most):
6. Nia
5. Paige
4. Kendall
3. Mackenzie
2. Brooke
1. Maddie
Maddie’s Solo – “You Don’t Know Me” – Lyrical Piece
Maddie continued her winning streak by placing first once again. Abby thought that Maddie was technically superb in her solo number.Brooke’s Solo – “Care Less” – Lyrical Piece
Brooke’s solo number was entitled “Care Less” because Abby believes Brooke couldn’t care less about dancing (pun intended). Brooke proved Abby wrong, however, by earning a spot in the Top 5. She placed fifth overall.Nia and Paige’s Duet – “The Wild Child and the Wallflower”
Abby pulled their duet last week because of their mothers’ behavior, but she gave Nia & Paige another shot this week. This duet showcased more of their personalities. They placed fourth overall.Group Number – “Money is the Root of All Evil” – Contemporary Piece
Abby didn’t refer to Chloe by her given name in this episode. Instead, she opted to call Chloe “that girl” or “Blondie.” After Chloe burst into tears, Christi defended her daughter:Abby: “Yo, Blondie! Yo, girl in the front (Chloe)!
Christi: “My daughter has a name!”
Abby: “Not anymore in my book!”
Christi: “Oh yes she does. She has a name, Abby!”
Abby: “So do you. It starts with a B.”
This group number was literally one of the most expensive group numbers we’ve seen thus far. Abby dressed the girls up in green dresses with cash stapled onto the dresses. They placed first overall.
Before the award ceremony occurred, all of the participants at the competition danced the "Gangnam Style" dance! Even dance mom Jill joined in! Awesome!
Jill dancing "Gangnam Style"In a classic game of She said, She said -- Christi says this, Kelly says that, and Melissa plays ‘Monkey in the Middle’:
Christi and Kelly are AT WAR! Though their VIRTUAL friendship (i.e. Facebook, Twitter) wasn’t discussed in this episode, I am willing to bet that they blocked each other on those social mediums as well. The truth of the matter is that: they’ve unfriended each other in real life. This is how the drama went down:- Christi claimed to be having a bad week (last week). This is why she didn’t want to return Kelly’s phone calls.
- Then, Christi altered her story by telling the other mothers that she hadn’t received any phone calls from Kelly.
- Melissa decided to play Monkey in the Middle, and asked Kelly to come down to the costume shop to talk about her and Christi’s situation.
- Later that evening, Melissa asked Christi out for drinks to talk about her and Kelly’s situation. (Sly move, Melissa).
- On the day of the competition, Christi said the following words to the camera: “There’s an elephant in the room, and for once it’s not Abby.”
- Finally, Kelly and Christi engaged in an explosive argument in one of the hallways at the competition:

This series will continue to climb that steep Mountain of Controversy in the upcoming episodes. This show is entering "Jerry Springer" territory right now...
Also: have you seen the previews for the upcoming episode? RIP Broadway Baby (Abby’s beloved dog). I’m a dog-lover myself, so I was extremely upset when I found out Abby’s dog had passed away. RIP.
Thanks for reading this recap of "You've Been Unfriended." I know this episode was a hard pill to swallow, but hang in there. The show will improve...
