Dance Moms - Season 3 Episode 35 - Season Finale Recap -The Big, Not So, Easy

Lifetime

It's finally here! The season finale of Dance Moms. My Tuesdays will feel a little empty until the next season but the show definitely went out with a bang.

Recap for season 3, Episode 35 of Dance Moms: The Big, Not So, Easy:

The Abby Lee Dance Company heads to New Orleans to compete for a title at Nationals against their rival dance coach Cathy. Let the games begin.

Things are a little different this week. Peyton's picture is on the pyramid because she's a part of the team..for this week. Much to Leslie's annoyance. I don't know what's more desperate. Leslie or Abby's tan this week.

The group dance will be a tribute to Hurricane Katrina victims. Abby's themes are getting worse than American Idol back stories.

As far as for who will be receiving a solo for Nationals? Abby is making each girl learn the same solo as someone else and will then have them compete for it. The pairings are as follows:

Brooke vs. Peyton

Chloe vs. Kendall

Asia vs Mackenzie

Nia vs Paige vs Maddie. So basically, Maddie gets a solo. Nia and Paige should just take a nap.

This whole system is messed up and it's so obvious Abby already knows who will be getting what. But let's humor her, shall we?

Over in Candy Apple-ville, Cathy has gotten rid of Anthony and hired a new, more famous and more waxed choreographer. Welcome to Blake McGrath. He has worked with the likes of Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Britney Spears. Can he help Cathy reach victory over Abby?

In a shocking twist, Kristie 2.0 announces that she and Asia will be leaving the dance company, and the show, for good. She says that Asia has many opportunities in LA and Asia will no longer be competing at all. How convenient given that the season is ending and a new season of Abby's dance competition has begun.

Even more shocking, Leslie and Christi get into it after a day of drinking. Leslie charges at Christi like a drunken hippo and I'm really bummed that production has stopped it before anything good has happened. Christi, in her inebriated state, apparently thought she would win the fight by poking her index finger at Leslie.

Because of this, Abby kicks out not only Christi and Leslie, but Chloe and Peyton as well. That is so unfair. Chloe didn't do anything and now she won't get the chance to defend her title. Abby will do anything to secure Maddie wins.

Let's let the predictability begin. Mackenzie, Maddie, and Kendall are awarded solos. Brooke loses hers for no reason at all.

Results:

Solos

Mackenzie: 2nd place

Kendall: 2nd place

Maddie: 1st place and a title

Groups

Cathy's team: 2nd place

ALDC: 1st place and a title

Overall, besides the too-short shocking moments, this episode was pretty predictable and it has been for some time. In the new season, I hope the show spices it up a bit and gives the other girls a fair chance.
