Dance Moms - Season 3 Episode 32 - Recap - On-Again, Off-Again Abby

Abby is back. Sort of. The Queen of Mean returns to battle Cathy but has perfected a disappearing act. Here is our recap for season 3 episode 32 of Dance Moms: “On-Again, Off-Again Abby.”

Until Abby returns, Gianna is once again in charge. There will be no pyramid this week and only one solo. Chloe will be doing a solo this week while Mackenzie and Asia will be partnered up for a duet. Everyone is in the group dance.

Melissa visits Abby to find out when she'll be back. But really, she just wants to know if Maddie will be performing at Nationals. Abby assures her that Maddie will be because, let's face it, she's her favorite. When Jill hears about this, she gets pissed at what seems like a sneaky secret meeting has taken place.

Melissa is a very good manipulator.

Cathy is back this episode. Sigh. That means her boring team and Dance Parents are as well. The angry father is still gone but Zack is back this week and Cathy puts him up against Chloe. And guess who else is gone? Anthony! Yay. He was such a D-bag and a half.

Although Christi and Kelly want to leave a trail of donuts and hamburgers to the studio, it is unnecessary. Abby turns up halfway through rehearsals. The first thing she does is make Brooke and Paige feel bad. She intends to punish them with more work than the others. By granting them solos. Who hear actually thinks she'll do that? That would be more of a reward. And Abby doesn't do well with rewards because she's a horrible person.

Strangely enough, Abby changes her story when the moms ask where she was. Which is it, Abby? I'm starting to think you're full of crap. Christ goes off on Abby for going off on Kelly. I really thought it would escalate more. I didn't expect Christi to say "F*ck you!" to Abby and not have anything come out of it.

The Competition

The groups show up to the competition and there is an actual crowd of fans outside..for Cathy. HA. I'm sorry. How much did she pay them to be there?

Kristie 2.0 and Cathy almost get into a physical fight outside and some random guy tries to defend Cathy. Who are you?

Cathy and Melissa bicker and Cathy tells Melissa to get a breast lift. Cathy's insults are always hilariously blunt and juvenile.

Abby drives all the way to the competition with the girls and then decides not to go. Again, she plays a game of hanging up when anyone calls her. Whatever. I'm actually enjoying how confident Chloe seems to be without Abby there to make her feel bad. It's just a shame that Chloe finally emotes during a dance and Abby isn't there to see it.

The duet is adorable but the rest of the competition is overshadowed when Hadley's mom cries and carries on when one of the moms doesn't give her credit for helping to choreograph the dance routine. I mean. Who cares?

I actually liked Cathy's group dance for once. But in the end, it isn't enough.
