Dance Moms – Season 3 Episode 29 – Recap – Clash of the Dance Moms
With Kelly, Brooke, and Paige out of the picture this week on Dance Moms, Abby must figure out the perfect way to prove that they are replaceable.
During Pyramid, Kendall is at the top for winning the cover of the photo shoot in last week's episode. Nia, still somewhere around the bottom, is compared to the others and told she isn't as excellent as them. Holly points out that Abby doesn't give her the same amount of attention so that she has the chance to improve. Holly may have awakened the beast.
The group will be attending a new, prestigious dance competition this week and will be once again pitted against Cathy and her minions. Abby decides to punish Maddie this week for not throwing her friends under the bus and doesn't award her a solo or a spot in the trio. The trio will instead be performed by Chloe, Kendall, and Nia. I'm actually really surprised that Abby is trusting them against Cathy.
For the group number, to replace the two missing spots of Brooke and Paige, Abby brings in Peyton to dance. Coming with Peyton, is her very outspoken mother Leslie. Leslie is thrilled to be there and she wants to take over Kelly's seat permanently. Not if Christi has anything to say about it.
Cathy has yet another new lineup of dancers. I have to wonder how much time has passed since we last saw this group. Most of the boys, including the annoying Dance Dad, are gone. Instead, Cathy has brought back Hadley, Nicaya, and Mary to dance with a boy for their group number. Anthony is, unfortunately, still around and he's still arguing with everyone. Cathy can surely get another choreographer right?
The competition day has arrived and everyone is feisty. Peyton gives an attitude and this is the reason Abby dislikes her to begin with. Abby tells her to shut her mouth. Not shutting their mouths would be the Dance Moms. Apparently Kristy and Yvette go way back on that reality show I didn't watch. Leslie makes fun of her Spanx and Kristy calls her out in front of the competition owner. Was that a smart move? And through it all, Yvette keeps the same pained smile plastered across her face.
Cathy's group dance isn't as awful as usual. In the end, however, it isn't enough to beat Abby.

"Leslie is like the boil on the butt of humanity. Go away." LOL!! Is that the best quote to ever come out of this show?
Instead of being able to enjoy their victory, Abby still manages to sneak a dig in on Paige not being around to screw it up. Geez. Not cool.
Cathy brings in Anthony's mom to start a fight with the others and to grab some camera time before the episode ends. Get them out of here.
