Damien sings 'I Don't Want to Wait' (VIDEO)

Damien sang 'I Don't Want to Wait' by Paula Cole on The Voice Season 7 Semi-Finals on Monday, December 8, 2014 for Team Adam Levine.

Well, I thought this was a terrible song choice when I first read he'd be doing it. And now that he's done it? Yeah, still a terrible song choice. I didn't think it was possible to make this song sound more dated, but that Peter Gabriel-esque arrangement did Damien absolutely no favors. I also thought it was probably his weakest vocal of the entire season. It's a shame he couldn't close on "She's Out of My Life," because that would have been the perfect statement for why he should have a place in the finals. But this? Meh.

Blake says he never thought of that song in that way, and praises Damien on his voice. Pharrell says Damien's voice is second to none. Meanwhile, Gwen admits she was crying while watching Damien's hometown video package. She then reaches into my mind and pulls out that Peter Gabriel comparison (seriously, Gwen, stay out of my head!). Adam then notes that Peter Gabriel is exactly what they were going for. He says the performance was better than he even he had hoped for, and he loved watching Damien's journey in the video package as well. Adam is proud of him and proud to be a part of his life in even a small way.
