Cycling - Mens Keirin - London 2012 Olympics - Results
Chris Hoy of Great Britain would face a tough field in the Men's Keirin event at the London 2012 Olympics. Could he erase the disappointment of the Women's Sprint for the home team?
Here are your medal results:
The Men's Keirin, which is the cycling race that begins with a motorized pacer that the riders must stay behind and then ends with an all out sprint, came down to an exciting and very close finish.
Team GB's Chris Hoy looked to be defeated with only a few meters to go, but he made a bold move on the inside of the track to jump to the front and win by about half a bike length. The race for bronze medal position was so close that it came down to a photo finish and after the judges review they determined that Simon van Velthooven and Teun Mulder could not be split and would both receive bronze medals. Medals for everyone! Yay!
Results:
Gold: Chris Hoy - Great Britain
Silver: Maximilian Levy - Germany
Bronze: Simon van Velthooven - New Zealand & Teun Mulder - Netherlands
Congratulations to all the medal winners!
