The CW Renews 'America's Next Top Model' and Two Others
The CW has renewed three series to anchor Friday nights.
The network announced that it has renewed America's Next Top Model, unscripted series Penn & Teller: Fool Us and the Dean Cain-hosted magic show Masters of Illusion. All three shows will return in 2015.
America's Next Top Model, which will once again feature both men and women competing against one another for the show's 22nd cycle, will presumably return for a full season of 16 episodes, unless The CW says otherwise. Masters of Illusion, meanwhile, will return for thirteen episodes, as will Penn & Teller: Fool Us, which features amateur magicians attempting to get one over on the famous duo.
I'm not all that surprised that The CW wants to remain in the ANTM business, although I am somewhat pleasantly surprised that both magic shows are being brought back. They're entertaining little nuggets of TV, and they're probably pretty inexpensive to produce, which means it's not exactly a money-sink for the network.
