Bill Beckwith, the 38-year-old co-host of HGTV's popular do-it-yourself show Curb Appeal, was tragically killed following a motorcycle crash on Monday night.
The crash occurred near the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood in San Francisco, as Beckwith's motorcycle was suddenly struck by a passing vehicle. Beckwith suffered severe head trauma and was subsequently pronounced dead at the hospital. Police are looking into the cause of the crash, and have confirmed that the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash is cooperating.
Beckwith was one of three hosts of the outdoor renovation show, co-hosting alongside John Gidding and Kimberly Lacy. HGTV says in a statement, "His creativity, adventurous spirit and general love of life will be missed."
The outpouring of condolences didn't end there.
"Bill was truly a beloved and respected member of our Curb Appeal family and this loss is devastating to us," the show said on its official Facebook page Tuesday. "We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Bill's family."
A Facebook memorial page -- Billy J. Beckwith, Superstar -- was also filled with messages from family and friends.
"He was a great writer and thinker. Farmer. Dancer. Woodworker. TV star! Artist. Athlete," wrote friend Andy Seaver. "So silly. So deeply pensive. His smile could destroy you."
